VISIT TO THE TAURIAN ARCHEOLOGICAL PARK OF THE TAURIANI AND THE CRYPT OF SAN FANTINO
Departure and visit of Taureana di Palmi, Archaeological Park where there are remains of the Tauriani ancient Italic population with related Roman remains.
The plateau where the archaeological park is located is situated on a small hill, here you can enjoy a beautiful view surrounded by olive groves and the surrounding Mediterranean nature.
Visit the crypt of San Fantino (the first saint of Calabria).
He died in 336 AD. San Fantino is the oldest historically proven Calabrian saint. He was born in Taureana di Palmi (Rc) in 294 AD, where he died in 336, on 24 July, the day on which his memory is celebrated. The crypt where the saint died can still be visited and is located inside an ancient Roman cistern, with very fine Orthodox frescoes (iconographies). Inside the crypt there is still an active well of spring water.
The water has beneficial characteristics.
If time permits, we will visit Mount S.Elia. Panoramic point of the Costa Viola that embraces the Strait of Messina.
